Snowmageddon 2010 Cyclocross Race

February 21, 2010
12:00 pmto1:00 pm

Sunday, February 21, 2010, NOON, Kingswood Park, Mason, Ohio

We will have had 4 big snow storms within 3 weeks leaving about 20+ inches on the ground. Why not have everybody bring out their bikes and have a race. This would have been a Cyclocross (CX) race, but everyone has dismantled their CX bikes for the off season, so any bike will do. Bring out your CX bike, MTB bike, BMX bike or whatever you think will work.

This will be a FREE race for fun.
The race will be 30 minutes long doing laps of a short loop.
The winner gets bragging rights.
Spectators are encouraged to throw snowballs, especially at the leaders.
The race will start at noon.

Come race. Come spectate. Come help.

Spread the word!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can also find the event on Facebook.

BigDaveSports + Godzulla Cycling Challenges = ?

BigDaveSports has been in contact with Godzulla about possibly working together to ensure the unique events brought to you year after year by Godzulla continue to bring everyone the pain and suffering they sign up for.  So far, the discussions have been positive.

Godzulla Cycling Challenges (www.godzulla.com) has built it’s reputation for having some of the most brutal events with the most brutal climbs possible for this area of the country.  Such events include Schabobelle/Mentor in February, Godzulla in May and Son Of Godzulla (SOG) in the fall.  All events tend to be followed with a festive gathering complete with exotic foods and beers.

The event that BigDaveSports is interested in helping with this year is SOG.  The concept would be to have it as a USA Cycling sanctioned race starting at 10:00 AM with a “fun”/casual ride at 10:30 AM on the same course.  Afterwards would be the typical Godzulla-style party.  The biggest issue may be finding enough Course Marshals to cover the 47 turns on the 77-mile course.

Hyde Park Blast Criterium (USA Crits Series #3) – the largest road event in Ohio has grown further with its acceptance into the prestigious USA Crits Series (www.usacrits.com)!  Last year’s attendance of 320 riders measured out at a 40% increase over the previous year.  How much growth will we see this year!?

Registration is now open!

Bulk Registration is now open for the 2010 Ohio Spring Race Series

You can register for all 8 races in this year’s Ohio Spring Race Series in one easy transaction and save yourself 15% off the registration fee.  Sign up now and get back to training.  You won’t have to bother with it again.  This year’s series is building momentum and is looking to draw in huge fields.

Ladies, don’t forget that we have split the Women’s fields to give everyone a better chance this year.  This means that the Cat 4s only have to beat the Cat 3s and not the 2s and 1s.  There have been some incredible growth in the local women’s racing scene in the off season, so we are expecting to see some epic battles between several teams instead of just a couple of riders as in the past.

Bulk registration is available at:
